”Testimony” Now On Chewers Masticadores

Poem by Joni ©️2024 – Image generated by DeepAI.org

Testimony

tangled tears unfold in burnt red leaves
as October reins her tempest, sultry, yet encaged
deciduous in nature, wool sweaters lose their sleeves,
sanguine cheeks pale, your passion dies and empties me, enraged

a hummingbird in torpor, my heart slows
your frigidity bites like a rattler who yearns for heat
lonely is my sinking vessel, not ministering where it goes
like a doe, you, too, shall relent your spots, a winter coat for deceit

Dearest Bianca I am going to catch up on Hotel no later than tomorrow and read both your piece there and also look for others I may have missed. You are always so very gracious when I write a piece and it means so much to me. You are a kind soul and I love you. Thank you for your friendship. Hopefully after next week I will be back on line more often. ❤️🙏❤️

Dearest Bianca, please forgive the missed reading, as it has been hard to not read so many people I love and care about who have written such beautiful work, and I have not been able to do much lately. Your friendship means a lot to me, Bianca, and reading your work does, too. You are a talented writer and a lovely person who has so much to offer. My team of doctors tells me the process will take about a month to get the procedures completed and hopefully restore my health. I can’t sleep, so I thought I would try and catch up a little. I saw them today and had my first of four procedures. Love you, sweetie, take care of yourself, much love coming your way.

    1. jonicaggiano says:

Dearest Bianca, we got back two days ago, and it was so lovely having this message here. Thank you so much for your understanding and the ability to be truly supportive and express your love. Many people hold back the word love on social media as if it is inappropriate or that we should not be expressing our love to people we care about. I applaud you and all the other people who don’t feel the need to hold back those words as if sharing them somehow makes them weak. I love you too, Bianca, and always smile when I see you in Hotel or in any of the magazines it makes me happy. Your prayers mean the world to me. Bless you my friend. Lots of love, Joni

      1. Belladonna says:

Sending love to you and yours beautiful!

      2. jonicaggiano says:

Dear Belladonna, forgive the late response, we have been in Winston-Salem for a while now and will be here another three weeks. I truly hope that all is well with you and your family. I hope that your son is having a wonderful football season. Love to you beautiful!

      3. Belladonna says:

Oh wow that sounds like a lot of fun. I hope you are doing great.
Yes my son is enjoying his season so much. We can’t wait to meet you and attend one of the games with us.

      4. jonicaggiano says:

I am so happy for you all. You must be so proud of your child. They grow up so fast. My grandchildren play football too. They are little ones but the oldest is pretty big and good at it. I can’t watch it makes me nervous with the little ones. When we get back I will get a hold of you beautiful Belladonna. I am grateful all is well with you and your family. ❤️🤗❤️

      5. Belladonna says:

Good luck to your grandkids and I pray they stay safe! yes, please let me know when you are back.

      6. jonicaggiano says:

We leave her on the 29th of this month. I will definitely get in touch. Big hugs, and thank you for your kind words. I know the big-time college players are in shape for the game. Watching the little ones play when some of the other players are so big is kind of scary.

      7. Belladonna says:

It’s so scary, even when your son is 305 pounds!!!

      8. jonicaggiano says:

Wow, that is so impressive. How tall is your son and what position. My husband is interested. I wish I knew more about football than I do but for a college football player that sounds very impressive and I’ve seen him. He’s a nice looking young man. I hope your Saturday is going wonderfully and I bet it is scary for you. I pray that he stays safe and that God will watch over him. ❤️🙏❤️

      9. Belladonna says:

Your prayers are welcome, Thank ya beautiful!
He’s 6’4 and plays center and Right tackle. Redshirt Freshmen and transferred from West Point. Your grandsons should go to their summer football camps.

      10. jonicaggiano says:

Oh my gosh, you didn’t tell me he transferred from Westpoint. So impressive. My husband will enjoy watching him play. I will, too. Virginia Tech has an awesome football team. Every year, my daughter enrolls them in a football camp – it is costly, but they have fun. Seneca Wallace was at their last camp and gave them pointers and signed their shoes. Your son must be an extremely intelligent young man, how impressive. He will likely be able to name his ticket with his portfolio. We have to let our kids go after their dreams. Even when it is scary. My daughter was a serious gymnast. She was starting level 7, there are 10 total, and that is when you get to the Olympic trials if you qualify. She actually, while doing a double flip, hit her head when she landed. In fact, I will always believe that is why God sent me to nursing school, so I knew all the signs to look for severe head trauma. When I didn’t see the young doctor treating her – checking her neurologic signs, I started screaming for them to get the doctor back into the room. I stopped holding her hand and went around to check her head, and there was blood draining out of her ear. Sure enough, she had a baseline skull fracture. She had a wonderful neurologist who was called and began treatment, but he still said he could not tell me if she would survive the night. I have never prayed so hard in my life. God saved my little girl, and I will never forget God’s wondrous love and healing powers. Sending love, hugs, and prayers for your son’s football career and for God to keep His Loving Hands Upon your son. ❤️
