My New Poem “A Poet’s Tender Heart” Now Live On Masticadores Latinos English Edition

A Poet’s Tender Heart

love, a raindrop, a snowflake,
or the uniqueness of the flight of the leaf
moon shades of green bringing forth
a canvas within the ocean’s kelp
songbirds sing for both you and me underneath
the power of the same blue sky

black keys suit the music of your
mystifying and powerfully winged words
white keys that are jealous are also poreless
in the face of misery’s tapping
hindering happiness with scarlet seepings
that birth thieves in the friendless dark

I mentioned over at LatinosUSA how much I love this piece, Joni. Such beautiful sensitivity and compassion can be found in the hearts of creative people. The world needs people such as these–we can’t survive as humans unless we’re free to create and spread love and kindness. It’s why I think our WP community is such a welcoming place. There are so many like-minded creatives here. It feels like home to this solitary writer/photographer here in Colorado. Your words bring hope to those of us who need it most. Wonderful writing, my friend. 😊

Dear Mike, thank you for your kind and most thoughtful comment. Yes, you are right. I have really missed the WordPress Community and found such wonderful and faithful friends here. It is difficult for me to write these days with all the crap going on but I am slowly trying to build my relationship with my friends on WordPress, where there is dialog and true friendships that last for years. Anyway, I agree it is wonderful to have a place to write where we can talk with people who have similar feelings and share their thoughts so creatively. Thank you for your kind comment on Hotel as well. I am glad you enjoyed the post Mike. Mich is a kind soul and such a joy to work with and never leaves one hanging. I know you feel the same way about her kindness and support. Sending you lots of love and hugs from a snowed in VA. Our little smart car couldn’t even get out the garage. Big hugs and thanks again Mike, always, for your kindness.

  2. Your poetry is lovely, Joni, and it’s heartwarming to see posted there. 💖🌞

Oh, thank you so much Timothy. I appreciate your reading and delighted you liked the piece. You are very kind. Hope you and the family are all doing well and not snowed in like we are. I love the snow, it is so pretty but it is difficult to even leave our house. The ice was so thick that Scott had to use a pick to make a dent in the foot of drift snow behind our tiny car. It is suppose to warm up today, and we are hoping for a trip to get RX and food. We live out in the County, but fortunately there is only one house we can even see where we are, the sunsets and sunrises are stunning here. There is a small town area just 15 minutes away which has everything you could ever need and Roanoke is not too far for other things. Big hugs, my friend and thanks again.

      1. You’re welcome, Joni. 😍 I hope you can deal with the ice problems well. 🙏

Thank you Timothy. We are going to make our getaway today. We feel so grateful that the electricity never went out. The few people who live out here have generators and their own backhoes. Thanks for the well wishes, we will need them. 🙏🫶🙏

  3. Timothy Price says:

    Congratulations, Joni.

    1. jonicaggiano says:

Dear Tim, Thank you for reading and for your congratulations. I checked on the weather where you are, and it is similar to when we lived on the desert side of WA State for a while. Can be very cold but heats up fast. 🌨️🦉

      1. Timothy Price says:

That’t the nature of desert environs.

      2. jonicaggiano says:

Your right Timothy. Scott’s dad still lives there. There is a different kind of beauty in the desert.

  4. So very beautiful Joni 💖
Stay warm and cosy dear friend 🙏
