Wild Blue Yonder
Inhale the air, youthful caution as tiny bare feet
run to co-exist where love and honey verily meet.
Inhale the air, youthful caution as tiny bare feet
run to co-exist where love and honey verily meet.
Brush against the rawness of our transitory earth
beguile new winter wind to sniff out a virgin birth.
Sink your feet into the soil of Earth’s great cover,
tossed and ensnared as a beloved and hated lover.

Thank you so much Joni ❤️🙏
My pleasure always. Sending lots of blessings, Joni
Another masterpiece, Joni. You have such an uncanny eye for imagery and sense of place and lilting themes that flow throughout. What a joy to read. Bare feet and cypress trees shall remain in my head for awhile, I suspect. 😊
Thank you, Mike. Your kind words mean so much, for you are truly the master of imagery when you describe nature, I get the chills. I am always grateful to hear you enjoyed a piece. I appreciate Mich publishing me. I love cypress trees with their bulky but wildly different knees and how they add to the lay of the land. Nature is amazing. I was so worried about the deer being cold in the snow and then found out by reading that their winter coats fill up with air and keep their body heat trapped. They produce an oil that repels rain, so as long as they have their extra layer of fat, they stay warm in the woods. Blessings to you, my friend, and thank you again for reading. Sending hugs, and our love, Joni
Congratulations Joni. This is beautiful, inviting, soul soothing poetry. There is a familiarity in the lines. Relatable to everyone. Thank you Joni for sharing this wonderful poem.
Thank you so much, dear Nigel, for your kind comment. I am so glad you liked it. Yes, this is more like my previous style of writing. Nature will always be the main character in my stories and poems, I think, to a certain degree. As we get older, my friend, I think we realize just how connected and how loving nature truly is to all of us, it sustains our life. I wonder if it made you think of your homelands? We send our love, Nigel, and I am looking forward to catching up on my favorite series.
You’re welcome Joni.. It did make me think of the natural clean spaces back home.
I wondered if it might. I bet it is very beautiful in many places and that you miss it. I am glad you have a chance to visit, that is a blessing. Hugs and love, our friend.
Yeah it’s has its special and familiar appeal. But this trip was just a whirlind of activity. Maybe next year I’ll go for an actual holiday.
I truly hope so, Nigel. I hope so Nigel, I know how close you are to your family and I really respect that. Love you Nigel
Great and radiant imagery and poem in general, Joni. I love
Thank you so much for the kind visit and your generous comment Lamittan. I hope that life has been blessing you. Sending you lots of wishes for an amazing year. Hugs, Joni
You’re most welcome, Joni. Yes, I’m doing great, dear. Thanks for asking. Hoping your fine. I’m grateful for your positive wishes. Wishing all the same too, dear. Hugs. Xoxo
Yes, I am very blessed in so many ways. I wish you all the best, my friend. XoXo
Glad to hear so. 🥰🌺🌺
❤️🙏❤️
Congratulations , Joni.
Thank you, Tim. I appreciate your reading. The older I get, the more tied to nature I become, I have always felt a kinship with trees and animals, but even more so now. I know you certainly understand this. We have decided to stay in VA for now and just travel the distance when we need health care. After being where there are grass-fed cattle – no hormones, etc. and almost no people, I just can’t imagine going back to the life of living in concrete circles. We left NC just in time, though, because they ended up cutting down a lot more trees in the animal preserve right behind our home, and now they are putting in homes. The stars are so beautiful here almost every night. Big hugs, my friend
Such a beautiful piece…many congratulations to you, dear Joni ✨❤️💫
Thank you, dear Navin, and I so appreciate you reading my piece. Hope you are having a truly blessed day and that you are feeling strong as well. I truly appreciate you, my friend. Your sons have your talent, and that has to feel really wonderful. I think our children are such a blessing, and when we see them thrive, we feel that we have made a difference. You certainly have my dear friend. Love Joni
You’re very welcome, dear Joni…and I appreciate you, my dear friend…thank you very much for always praising my kids…so true that our kids are a blessing…we feel proud and warm in heart when we can see they are thriving…I know you do that too…you’re a wonderful & lovable mom…love & hugs to you ✨❤️💫🤗
You are so right, my kind friend. I believe it is ok to have and feel pride for our children and their accomplishments. I have a hard time praying for myself, but my daughter is constantly in my prayers, and there are many people, that I pray for. You included Navin. You are an inspiration to me for so many reasons. The last piece I read that you wrote about how you took your injuries and made them truly into a blessing of how you see things, was so beautiful and enlightening. I am writing to your son’s music now. I have a jazz group that I love their music, and I have been writing to that for a long time. I know other people mix it up, but I have this thing because of the way I was brought up and the only way I could study or truly think was to have complete silence, and I would lock myself in the bathroom with my back against the door to feel safe. I can and do feel inspired by beautiful music, but it can’t have words that distract me, so I listen to only soundtracks without words. These are the ones I use the most often: If Noah has not heard about Auclair-Fortin, I wish you would tell him as I would like to know if he likes their music. The Gladiator soundtrack (music without words) Anything that Lisa Gerrard does without any vocals and now Permanently Unclosed by Noah-Nilay are in my YouTube music file called – Inspirational music to write to. His price for those beautifully played pieces was such a great deal as it is hard for me to find things that work for my writing. So please let him know that I wrote most of my pieces for a very important project coming up to his beautiful music. You are a dear friend, Navin, and I love your talent, but most of all, I love your strength and your enormous heart. Give both of your children my best. Love, light and blessings always my friend.
Thank you very much for such a heartfelt sharing…I see so much strength in you…you’ve come a long way, my friend…where you are standing today didn’t just happen like that…you’ve worked hard for it…you’ve earned it…healing is a continuous process & I feel you’re standing tall with confidence…you pray for your daughter, for many n for me as well…include yourself in your prayers as well, is my request…thank you so very much for your wonderful words about Noah’s music…I’m sure he’ll be honoured that you wrote most of your pieces for your important project to his music…wow…I feel so proud, happy & deeply touched…I’ll let him know about this all & will also ask if he likes their music…you’re a very kind person…I’ll pass on your wishes & blessings to both of my children, my talented, strong & big hearted friend…please take care of yourself…love & blessings to you & yours ✨❤️💫
You are welcome and I promise to prayer more for myself more but you please be extra specially careful. Thank you for relaying the messages to your talented sons. Love you dearest Navin and you and your family are in my prayers. ❤️🙏❤️
The poem is enchanting, Joni! Congratulations for the Hotel Masticadores publication.
My family used to refer to the “Wild Blue Yonder” as heaven, and I still do in many ways, Timothy. I believe that nature is connected with all things, including us, and I appreciate that you seem to understand my poetry, that means a lot to me. Thank you for your kindness my friend and blessings to you and your family. 🙏
Such an evocative and beautifully crafted poem, Joni! The interplay between love, loss, and redemption is particularly striking – such timeless and poignant writing!
