Our Creator

trees drink sun from indigo skies

mountains loom like ice cream

a lone hummingbird seeks sweets

not even a ripple in the vast lake

flowers display striking colors

all sculpted by God for our sake

3  For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods. 4  In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. 5  The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.  (Psalm 95: 3-5)

Our grandchildren have lightened my heart and my soul. They are blessing me and I am now remembering how pure the nature of little ones can be. Our world is a frightening place in many ways currently. At times, this can have a profound influence on me because of how I was neglected and abused as a child. I feel the sorrow in the world like pricking needles. Spending time with our family and observing the joy, love, laughter, and affection the interaction of the family brings is a blessing directly from God. Thank you for inviting me into your home and life through the exchanges and beauty we share online. We have another couple of weeks with our family and then we will head home from Washington State. God’s beauty in nature and his constant presence through the children’s smiles bring me a restorative sense that I cannot put into words. Love, peace, hope, and prayers for healing to anyone who needs it. Joni
