back to nature

Poem by Joni Caggiano on 01/27/22 – Beautiful photograph by Nuno Obey at Pexels

freedom
cutting my long hair
adorning myself with nature
oysters share their flawed pearls
earthworms sing songs of gratitude
silk stockings gathering at my thin ankles
wearing a tiny cotton flour sack, I feel peace
my soul sailing on a boat, feeling a joyful worldly release

    1. Thank you so much Terveen. I really appreciate your kind words about my poems they are truly appreciated. My mom growing up extremely poor, her dresses were always home made with flour sack cloth. Strange that it was always patterned with flowers or other colorful prints. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Hugs 🤗 Joni

  1. Beautiful verses Joni! Although I’ve taken the week off to travel I had to read your new poem and I am very glad that I did as I loved the images you’ve so delicately and artfully created. Love to you both, sending you both all the best, this time from Madrid 😊♥️🌹

    1. Oh that is so kind of you my generous friend. I am so glad you liked it too. Thank you. You two continue your wonderful week together in an amazing City. Love from both of us. ❤️🤗🦋🥰

  2. Beautifully expressed Joni with such calm and peace. 🌸💕The image is stunning and befitting to the poem. Best wishes and lots of love coming your way ❤️

    1. Thank you my kind friend, Tiffany. I appreciate your reading me and your sweet comment. Hope you two are finding some time for fun. Working all the time is not fun, I remember those days. I think we artists are pretty happy living a relatively simple life in terms of material things. We want a special place to work, that is important to us. I was watching “Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee,” the Seinfeld show and saw Jim Carrey’s art studio. I thought of all the artist I know and wondered how much they would love to have a place like that to work. He had canvases taller than me. So much light in the gigantic room it was unbelievable. Sending you gigantic hugs and lots of love Tiffany. xoxoxo

    1. Thank you so much Katy. I am glad you are in the boat. I have missed your beautiful art, posts and your beautiful face my friend. Your inner beauty shines like a light in front of the camera. Have a blessed day and if you are ever up this way you would be welcome to stay with us. Love ❤️ you Joni

      1. You are not behind ❤️🤗🦋🥰 Allow yourself to be sick. What would you be saying to yourself if you were one of your long time clients. 🤗❤️

      2. awwww thanks my friend. I am now working on my P.T. and increasing my breathing capacity but I will take it slow and I would say exactly that !!! When are you going to be a client? 🤣💖🌈🙏🙏🙏

      3. I am sure I would be benefiting by your services. Right now I am just trying to keep my exercises and stretching in for my neck and trapezius muscles. Yes please take it slow. I have heard the virus hurts the ability to breath. My daughter and neighbor had the same problem and were put on inhalers. They were fully vaccinated though. You have had a terrible time of it. I am going to be praying for you Cindy. Love and hugs 🤗❤️🦋🥰

      4. yeahhhh i know but we are far and you are doing it.. and f we were closer than far, it would be awesome. oh that’s so important with all of our writing to do. I’m going to continue wearing my mask for sure!! 💖💖💖
