Tender Embraces – Visit Gifted

I took this photograph of my daughter, grandchildren, and husband. They surprised us with an amazing visit just full of love, laughter and joy. We missed their dad but he was busy doing good things for those who are less fortunate. He was missed.

Tender Embraces – Visit Gifted

light embraces us gifts abundant manna from heaven
pure joy clings, and anchors us, like the song of trees
each child buzzes around us, like gold pollen to bees

smiles sway like timeless joy and wrap us like a gift
words of reason spill over us like a starlit waterfall
hummingbirds dance as they pass pop-pop new football

my husband, daughter, and family, tethers me in love
tears flow, I miss them already as I see their sunlit faces
their warm hugs and an infinite gift of tender embraces

our whispers of life as we talk till three in the morning
snuggle close in bed I hear you speak of a beloved bouquet
you share the love of your man, family, your life’s airway

daughter, how I long just to look at you, my gifted child
gifts of grace, we hold each other and cry like open skies
the pain of parting cuts like a knife even before goodbyes

like sharing a ribbon, you, my early gift from Our Father
your family the bow, a masterstroke, strong is its reason
like nature, each blessed child births a joyous new season

Thank you daughter for flying into a tiny airport and having a five hour layover to get to see us when an opportunity came up.  You blessed us both so much and of course Jerry, Richard, and Kervenson were like a blanket of love covering us the whole visit.

Dear Michele, thank you so much for your kind response. It was a wonderful surprise, my daughter is a Vice President of a large company just outside of Seattle and she is always very busy, and raising the children takes a lot of time as well. So it is always a blessing to see them. We miss them already. Much love and many blessings my dancing friend. ❤️

This line just resonated. I miss my family as well.
Papa Scott must have enjoyed spoiling the grandkids. 😂💜💜

    1. jonicaggiano says:

Dearest Nigel, you are so right. He really did. We all took them shopping once and then he took them shopping and got a football and some other stuff to play with in the yard. Papa Scott had a wonderful time as did I. I love those kids and miss them. Thank you Nigel and I understand the missing family, it is very hard to get together with Carolyn. She works a lot and the kids are always involved in something so everyone is busy doing life. Things move so fast now, it would be nice to see things slow down a bit. Sending our love and hugs to you, we think about you often. Hope you are not working too hard. ❤️🌹

  11. How wonderful to spend some time with your beautiful family, Joni!! I do appreciate family more these days, and every minute is precious! Love to you and yours! 💕

    1. jonicaggiano says:

Oh thank you so much Tiffany. It was a wonderful thing to visit with them and their early life was hard. All three of our grandchildren were rescued in horrific situations ten years ago. My daughter was on one of dozens of mission trips there and later her partner found the other two older children. They spoil those kids with their love. They blessed me so much. Tiffany I know that family has become so important to you and I understand and have been praying for you and what you are meeting everyday with what I am sure is love and optimism. Thank you for your kind comment and know you are in my thoughts and have been since I first read one of your post. Much love to you and your family. By the way your work is just so beautiful. I love the movement and colors you are using and notice that your work is getting lots of attention which it should be getting.

You are so kind and I appreciate your reading and your always gracious comments. I am doing well, there is never enough time to do what I would like to do. There are so many goals I make for myself and I just don’t have as much energy as I wish I did. I was so grateful to see my wonderful family. Our grandkids are adopted from Haiti, they were rescued about 10 years ago and have grown, adjusted, and thrived with my daughter and her partner. He was doing mission work at the time and could not come but we just felt so blessed to see my daughter and the grandkids who we just love to pieces. We both work out very hard doing a workout called Insanity – Core Cardio and Balance which has some yoga added, but we also do a lot of our own stretches. I am sure it is not as intense as your yoga which looks amazing. It is 42 minutes of pretty hard-core working out. We thought we would get more energy from that, what are your secret weapons as you look magnificent. We also eat extremely healthy. I do think we need to cut out all sugar – we like to eat 000 yogurt with 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder for a snack most nights which is delicious and almost no cal. However, we do eat a lot of fruit which can be fattening and avocado toast. You are in amazing shape so if you have any hints send them my way please. Big hugs and lots of love my friend. Thank you so much for stopping by.

  13. This is such a beautiful tribute, Joni!

    1. jonicaggiano says:

Thank you so much Dawn. I will be forever grateful that my daughter and her partner discovered this children when they did in Haiti, I believe it was in God’s plan. They were able to snatch them up and get them medical care to sustain their lives and then work out the legal stuff after seeking medicare and life sustaining food for our youngest grandchild, who my daughter stayed by his side for a month in the hospital to make sure he would take food before she left. She was sent to that spot, that grass hut, just in time, and I will always be grateful for each of those boys so full of life and so happy. They are a blessing to us. We love them very much. Many blessings and thank you Dawn. ❤️

This is sooooooo wonderful!!! Love those smiling faces.

    1. jonicaggiano says:

Oh, thank you, Belladonna. They are now officially adopted, and I am so grateful that they are no longer in Haiti, which is in complete civil war at the time. We love those guys, and they grow so quickly. It was a wonderful visit, but it was so hard to say bye. It was so nice of my daughter to visit, she is just so busy, I don’t know how she juggles everything, but I sure am proud of her. Thank you for reading my friend. Love you, Belladonna.

      1. Belladonna says:

It takes me back to some wonderful memories. Lots of love, sweetie
