Odin’s Maiden
her feet anchor defiant and strong
sharp edges of rock scream along
cliffs of fjord furrows ghostly pale
odin’s shield maiden decrees to sail
windswept red hair, her crown of love
blue gown drifts softly in tempest above
still feeling his strength how she aches
for what she gives and what he takes
standing proud, sword drawn she waits
quivers, cold, as she posits their fates
sun radiates from her blade this new day
an ode to odin she sings a song to pray

Thank you so much Timothy. By the way, I checked in on your blog and it looks like you have been busy doing more important things like your visit with your family. I think that is wonderful. I am trying to do the same. Our families are certainly more important to me than my writing a poem, etc. but I would really miss the friendships that I have made, that is my biggest reason for staying online at all. I love this community. My husband was reading your last article which I read a while ago and left a long comment. It was an amazing story. He was reading it outloud. Such a amazingly true story so well told about a true hero on that very famous battle and beach so long ago – D day. Such an amazing family member, you do him a great justice in this well told true story of a real American hero. Hugs and blessings my friend, always

We are doing great! Things are busy but please let us know if you are coming up for a game especially before it gets too cold. We would love to see your son play. All three of our grandchildren play football, of course they are little. Their very young life in Haiti is mostly a fading memory to them as they continue to grow in their ten years in the states. It was such a gift having them here. One of the boys has got an amazing arm and he is only 12. The other boys are good too but he is the biggest child. They all came from different mothers. Your son is also a very big man and extremely strong looking. So please let me know, I would love to see a schedule? Is he a starter, on a special team, etc., I must confess I am not a football fan because I worry that someone is going to be hurt, but I would enjoy watching your son play, just like I watched our grandchildren play and practice when they were even smaller. I envision you as a strong woman and a warrior of sorts like myself. I have always felt that way about you and not only that but you would likely have all the best looking red-headed and strong warriors. I worked for a 35 year old gorgeous red headed man when I was 18 and it was a part time job in his bakery. I would love making out with him on the top of the flour sacks in the back of the closed store (people could only pay and received their donuts through a window) it was on a freeway of sorts. Anyway, I had feelings for him but he was a rich playboy that owned all the businesses in a large strip mall. haha Love you Tiffany!
Beautiful poem. I saw it on IG first, which is not your usual MO. Loved that you did the audio as well, Joni.. I have a fascination with Viking history. I gobble up everything that comes on about them. I think the The Last Kingdom is my most favorite series in Netflix, closely followed by Vikings..and Vikings Valhalla. A lot of history and great action. 👏👏
We have watched the same exact ones that you did. I love those and “The Last Kingdom,” was done so well. We too can not get enough about their history and especially love the characters, so very well written. Thank you my friend so much for your kind comment. I am going to start doing a lot more video. The spoken word adds a lot I think. We loved it when we were able to listen to your and Melissa’s collaboration series in the spoken word. It was great. I don’t know what happened with the others, they didn’t seem to work for us but that is ok because Scott always reads them out loud. So we get them in the spoken word regardless. Such a great series Nigel. Sending Love from both of us. Hope that the storm didn’t cause any damage where you are our dear friend. We sure love you and hope that you are doing well.
I do need to add audio to all of them. It’s just the time to sort it out just in time for the posts seldom seems to be available to us. I gotta work on my scheduling 🤣
