The Calling Ocean

Poem and Picture by Joni

The Calling Ocean

a trail of love springs forth with morning glories
rain disperses drops, on steaming, searing sand
temperate waves leave kisses on briny shores
like a ring placed on the ankle of a new bride
moonlight is tasting the glitter of dusk of a regalement of tears
shifting like sighs of lost sand dollars on ocean’s symphonic shore
draped in twilight like an eager young woman in a blue, silken nightie
an artist captures musical notes and hearts
of women dancers, on canvas, his wife, and one true lady love
mermaids sprinkle gold on their pale skin
while braiding memories interlocked in bright orange locks
fishers bring in their catch; sunburned tourists dance on the docks
young, pale bodies embrace cooling air on last week’s tans
God mixes taste and sounds of nature, life, and love upon His lands
while a little one kneels beside her bed, saying prayers with folded hands

I love all the images you conjectured Joni. The ocean is a go to when I crave silence.. solitude… Even a glimpse of the divine. Loved the last image of the child praying too.

The capture is beautiful. The rays of lights so beautifully highlighting the clouds. Love the lamp and the bird feeder, I suppose. The whole greenery is fabulous. Your description is so beautiful. The feelings are felt. The last line is beautiful.

Thank you, dear Belladonna. You have been such a wonderful friend, I hope that you will read my last post for a while and understand why you have not been hearing from me. I have thought of you often because I know your handsome son, who is attending College on a full football scholarship, is staying not all that far away. Please know that I appreciate your friendship, your kindness, and the upbeat and healthy posts you share. I send you my love, dear friend and thank you so much.

Thank you, sweetie. You know me I write what I feel. You are special, and never forget just how special you are. Looked at the beautiful and unbelievably smart man you have raised. You have accomplished so much, my admiration for mothers in today’s world is so great. I can’t even imagine what it is like and the difficulties with social media and just all that is involved in finding time and making a living with families with the cost of everything continuing to go up.

      3. Belladonna says:

You have nailed it!!! the cost of living and social media are definitely working against families these days. LOL
But keeping the Lord first helps smooth out any lumps we maay haave. God is good!
