slide inside old tulip, pink petals, discarded long ago
drowning out the sound of laughter     my heart was feeling low
hear the trees weep in tune with me     I am weary
brown, torn the petals rise, did you know     you are not the first to appear

  1. What a profound take on life. Joni. I read it on Hotel, and it had a different energy then..now the energy is expanding as I read it over and over.
Life can really get flipped upside down.sometimes. but we carry on. The birthing of a new you, has to be preceded by the dying of the old you… each reiteration is bringing something shaped by the old, and enhanced by the new. If we evolve in grace and beauty, despite the “bad things” then our impact is immeasurable. We give to the world what it lacks, by being what it needs, so that it can transform into what we want it to become. 💙💙💕
    Like emotional terraforming.
It’s a beautiful, and profoundly deep poem, Joni.

    1. Nigel you don’t miss anything my dear friend. I think it is often in the craziest of times we often not only keep going but we remember and realize that we were growing strong by our hardship. “each reiteration is bringing something shaped by the old, and enhanced by the new,” what a beautiful thing to say Nigel. “Emotional terraforming,” what a great quote! Yes even a brown and dying tulip can offer a haven for a tired ladybug. Nigel you kindness always tugs at my heartstrings. It is wonderful to have someone really understand your work at such a deep level. Thank you for both your gracious comments and for reading. Love and hugs my friend. 🌹

      1. Thank you so much Nigel. Your name has become a frequently used name in our household. We love reading your work and get excited about new episodes coming out. Mich and you are both friends we have never met in person but who have become important friends to us and people we admire so much as well. We send our blessings too. 🙏❤️

      2. Thank you Hun. Should have an episode up some time today. Life has gotten in the way of my stories. But imma try to get something out today.
And it’s great that technology has allowed me to form friendships with you guys. One day we’ll meet hopefully. You, Scott and Michelle and David have been incredible..I’ve learnt so much from you guys m 💙

      3. Wouldn’t that be so wonderful. David has an enormous heart as does Mich. I love watching her writing and love spread around the world and some day you will do the same Nigel. Sending hugs – Scott just found your new story, “Ferryman of Venice.” We are going to read it now. You compliment me by saying you have learned from me. I have been so blessed by people I have met. Sending love and looking forward to hearing Scott read this new story. Love Joni

      4. Lovely….have fun. And yes, I do pay attention, and am always looking for ways to improve..you guys are really good at what you do..I’m learning constantly from your styles and flow of your pieces.

    1. Thank you so much Francisco. I am glad you enjoyed my poem. You are a most beautiful poet, and recognized as such a unique painter, musician and originator of the Euro-Ku and Ameri-Ku. I would imagine you are as busy as can be preparing for the amazing showing that is getting very close. Sending much love and hugs back to you both as well. Perhaps you will have a day to rest this weekend.🌹

      1. You’re very welcome Joni, and thank you for the nice recognition. You are an amazing and blessed poet and I do admire your work. Yes, I am quite engaged with final preparations, but trusting in God’s blessings. All the best.

      2. Things must be wild preparing for such an enormous showing – and yet what an enormous way for the City of Valencia to recognize one of its own who sells work all over the world. BRAVO 🎊🎉🎊✨

    1. Thank you so much my friend. I was telling my husband the other day what an interesting and amazing life you have had. I love for how you seek the smallest thing as it shows us all, even that lone flower can lift a heart and fill us with joy. Sending big hugs to you and your wife. Blessings to you both.

      1. Thanks Joni. You are too kind. I am entering a new chapter right now…turning 70 next month and became a Grampa for the first time today. Life is good. Hugs to you and your husband. 🤗🤗Allan

      2. Oh Allen what an absolute blessing. By the way didn’t you know 70 is the new 55 and 65 the new 50. I truly am so happy for you and your wife. I can imagine this child at three with camera saying, “stop gramps didn’t you see the fungus and mushroom you missed.” Honestly I couldn’t be happier for you and your wife. Have a great time. Big hugs and congratulations to you both. You have lived such an amazing and wonderful adventures in life. 🎉🎊✨🎁🎊🎉✨
