sundry whispers flutter like silky snow
bending, twisting around rapt ear
perching amid folks ripe for evil

I heard gossip explained this way to me a long time ago, and it really helped to visualize the damage done by gossiping. I try never to talk about others in less I have something kind to say. However, likely at one time in our lives, we have been a participant in gossip. Even if it is just standing idly by while someone you know is talking about another, and you don’t express your disapproval in gossip.
A person takes a feather pillow up on the roof of their house on an extremely windy day. They cut the pillow open and shook it, removing all the feathers. Trying to take back the damage done by gossip would be like putting every feather back into the pillow, so if you can’t think of something kind to say about a person, don’t say anything at all. Wise words Joni. While gossip may seem innocent, it seldom is. We always joked when we grew up in a small town that the neighbours knew what we did 5 minutes before we did it. Stay well and hugs to you both. Allan 🤗🤗

The pillow story totally makes sense. Gossiping is such a toxic habit in our society, it each one’s responsibility to not add to it even by just being silent about it.
