My Sword Now Live On MasticadoresPhilippines

Thank you for the artist Vanessa Melecio for providing this image for these poems. Powerful piece!

I am a soul that spirals within the languid cylindrical cavity of a flute.  Fragrances pass through me, caressing my heart like a compassionate breeze that carries earth’s gifts.  Through the eyes of a bee, I forage for sweet tenderness lost in the rough concrete of my childhood home.  Fear, pain, and sorrow lay a path of misery upon my heart. Great Willow oaks sang woodland songs and clapped their hands to summon the Red Bellied woodpecker.  They synthesize a pocket in the uttermost oak that buried my tears years ago.  My heartache, I surrender to a box made from the fallen arms of a Magnolia tree.

Dear Tim it means so much to me when someone enjoys my poetry. I try to always speak from my heart and to always speak my truth. I think you have always understood me and for that I am so grateful. Thank you for taking part of your Saturday to read my work. Sending you big hugs and lots of love, Joni ❤️

Stunningly beautiful and brilliant writing, my friend. You continue to demonstrate what it means to be a true poet. This is perfection, Joni. Thank you for sharing this with us. 😊

Mike a compliment from you is a precious gift. I enjoy your writing so much that when I get such lovely feedback from you I am glowing. These words mean a lot Mike and you mean a lot to me too. I was honored to write a piece to share with this theme. “Whattheydontsee.” Nigel told me my words would be shared with children in Trinidad today and he would get back to me when he had feed back. I think that is the sweetest thing. No wonder you two are friends and have such amazing respect for one another – you both have such enormous hearts. Love you Mike and think you again, my friend. ❤️

Thank you so much dearest Henrietta. This means a lot to a poet or writer as you know. When I can see, smell and physically be transported by a poem I know I have met a great poet. I am not there yet, I am a work in progress but I am certainly encouraged by all the wonderful friends like you. ❤️🙏❤️ Hope you have a restful Sunday my friend. Love to your beautiful family. ❤️🦋❤️
