Wow, Joni. Coke! That insidious demon. This poem is incredible, truly. Made the little hairs on my arm stand up. I was reminded of a story I wrote last year called “Blow” (it’s sort of a herd of stampeding buffalo in contrast to your elegant ballet of flamingos!) but the damning message is the same. This captures a sad reality.
I suppose the mob and drug manufacturers are everywhere. It is sad to me that the people that live in Mexico have to deal with this kind of corruption. It is not their fault. Blessings my dear friend. I am sending you a big hug and a prayer this morning. Love, Joni ❤️🙏

I feel so sorry for all the wonderful people that get in the way of the cartels and are killed or brought in to slavery, it breaks my heart. Most people just want to live a modest life and be blessed with their health. Those they can are blessed. Many are never given the choice. Sending you much love and hugs my friend.
