Dancing Dragonflies

Poem Written By Joni Caggiano on 06/27/20 – Photo by Alise AliNari on Pexels.com

The fly fisherman is performing ballet with his line
Celebrating God’s creation with the rising sunshine

Viewing the immense buck in a soft meadow of clover
Floating on a tender moment until my pain slid over

Retinas reflecting the brilliant yellow of the sunflower
Squirrels eat the seeds as they bend their giant tower

Dragonflies carry fairies across the effervescing creek
Their travels a solace for aging tribes, hungry or week

Giant is the trout as it flies through the air with pride
Feeling anxious, as my grief is stuck, buried deep inside

Our promise was I would always be the first one to go
Eating ripe figs dipped in honey, this was the seed in tow

Honeysuckle and jasmine fill the air with aromas sweet
Shedding my clothes in the humid, thick Carolina heat

Like a tight but tender glove, the water now consumes me
Immediately I am, again, in your arms, suspended and free

Cooling myself among the insects in this vibrant stream
Time with you darling, my forever love, yet in another dream

  1. How do you do this dear Joni, make me feel my body in the cool waters of your world?

  2. Timothy Price says:

A beautiful dance indeed. We have lots of dragonflies dancing in the ditches and on the river and through the flowers and trees. Dragonflies are always happy.

    1. jonicaggiano says:

Hi my friend, hope you and your sweetheart are well. Don’t you just love dragonflies? I bet you do see lots of dancing ones with beautiful colors too. I saw a stink bug yesterday and I immediately thought of your precious video with the wee owl baby and his explorations of the bug. I will always think of that now every time I see one. So cleaver, a real close look at curiosity. I hope you have been able to find a new building and that life is good my friend.
Thank you for visiting Tim. I appreciate your support. You have an amazing weekend with your wife and gorgeous land. Sending love and hugs to you both. 🌺🌸❤️💕Joni

Beautiful, Thank you dear Joni!! 🙏

Oh hi Debby it is nice to hear from you. I appreciate your kind words. Thank you so much. I hope you are well and staying safe my sweet friend. Hope work is going well and that you feel safe. Wishing you a beautiful day off. Love and hugs to you and yours. ❤️💕🤗Joni

Dear Joni I have a question I hope you don’t mind. I was wondering if you are currently on a WordPress.com plan? The reason I am asking is because some people are missing the Follow Button under notifications (you are one of them). Here is a link so you can see what I mean https://www.navinspoems.com/nofollow.png . Thanks in advance for your reply.

      2. jonicaggiano says:

Of course you can ask me anything my friend. We have the WordPress business plan. When I go onto one of my post I see a follow button but it is at the very bottom. Are you not able to see it. If not that is bad for my site. I am grateful you told me. I think it is around 114.00 a year. My husband has a computer science degree and set up my site originally and I do my own posting. Should I chat with them about this? Please tell me what you think. Love Joni

      3. Debby Winter says:

The follow button on your website is showing, however, if you press the link in the previous message I send you, you will see a picture which shows that where others have a ‘following’ link, your space is blank. The WordPress business plan costs $25/month so I would definitely submit a ticket and ask if this is something that can be fixed (providing people with an opportunity to follow you after you ‘like’ one of their posts is a feature you don’t want to miss out on). I have contacted different people who are apparently experiencing the same issue. I’m not sure if it’s due to the servers they are on, or maybe caused by wrong configurations, but I won’t let it rest until I know why this is happening. Thanks for your reply and if you hear anything from WordPress please let me know. With love, Debby

      4. jonicaggiano says:

I will contact WordPress Debby. You are very kind to look into your followers accounts. I misspoke our plan is the premium plan and – one of the features says “ while you are at it improve your SEO and automate social media sharing. So perhaps I am doing something wrong. Let me tell you what they say and I will get back to you. Thank you Debby for looking after me. You are very sweet and I trust you and appreciate your help. Perhaps there is something else I need I will check with you before spending more money on SEO related help. I admire your work ethic very much. Love and hugs sweet friend. ❤️💕Joni

      5. Debby Winter says:

Thank you for your kind words. If you ever want to move to a self-hosted WordPress solution it would be pleasure to help you with this (starting at only $2.75/mo and giving you much more benefits due to the ability to install SEO plugins and fully manage the CMS, otherwise only possible with the WP $25/mo business plan). I hope you get the follow button fixed shortly and I’m pretty sure the issue is on their end so submitting the ticket should be only thing you have to do. If you like feel free to use the link I left to explain to WordPress what’s going on. Let me know what they have to say 😉

      6. jonicaggiano says:

Thank you Debby if I can’t get the button in the place you think we need it I would get the extra SEO for the 2.75 a month. I will let you know what they say. I will share what your pages show as well. Thank you Debby you are a kind friend. I appreciate you looking out for me. Have a blessed evening my friend. Love 💕 Joni ❤️💕

I love the form and flow of this piece, Jonikins! You paint a vivid world to get lost in and it is hard to find my way back sometimes. I read it over and over again trying to stay in the moment you create just a little bit longer. Well written, my friend! 💗

    1. jonicaggiano says:

Thank you dear Anna. I am so glad you enjoyed it. Have a truly blessed Sabbath. I hope your family is all healthy and feeling safe. I don’t feel like what is happening in our world today has much to do with our control. I believe God is in control and all of this could very well be a wake up call. I feel such empathy for those who are suffering, and dying. It is a wonderful thing not to be afraid to die because you know where we are going is to be with Our Lord yet this is a sorrowful thing for those separated from their loved ones during that time. I prayer more souls will come to know God and His Son Jesus during these difficult days. Love you Anna – Joni

      1. I join in your prayer, Joni. These are troubled times. It is a great blessing when we experience the peace that passes understanding (Phil. 4: 7). May grieving hearts everywhere turn to Him. <3

      2. jonicaggiano says:

Amen, thank you Anna. I just watched our service on line and it was all about turning to God during these times. He already knows the outcome. So we lean into prayer and honor him. Love you – Joni

  10. Hello honeybun
This poem is as beautiful as the rain forest in an non-ending summer. It vibrates with love and beauty. The energy of love unites the earth with a sky through a symphony that enchants the senses. Gorgeous piece.

Like a tight but tender glove, the water now consumes me
Immediately I am, again, in your arms, suspended and free

Bravo honeybun. You are an exceptional poetess.

      3. Thank you so much for thinking at me sweetheart. As it stands right now ours will open sooner so we can finish by Thanksgivings. At this point it is not clear who is going to teach online and who is going to teach in person. Thank you for your prayers. They mean a lot to me.
Thank you for wishing me the best on the publication of the month. Believe me or not I was so busy this time that I forgot to vote.

Wow now that is just too busy and a bit funny at the same time. It seems to me that it would be easier almost to be at the college otherwise the preparation of all the emails would be overwhelming. Although I don’t want you to get sick either. That is where prayer comes in. Love to you dear Button. I will continue to pray for you. There is so much on your plate but I also am confident that you will work it all out. Love to you sweet Button. Yours honeybun ❤️💕
