Push Cart Nominations for 2022 – “I Write Her”

Thank you Susi Bocks – Editor and owner of “I Write Her,” has included me in her choices for Pushcart nomination!  

My poem “Old News is Not Old News” from the wonderful book, “Reflections & Revelations,” was nominated for a 2022 Pushcart.  This is a great honor for me as this book is filled with brilliant poets.

Old News is Not Old News

whites of fearsome eyes looking up from blood-soaked boards

black bodies stretched naked, branded, and shackled to floors

fifty women drowning overboard that enslaver’s work quickly done

another coast, heavily greased black muscles, glimmer in the sun

2021 computers on –  I listen while today’s news on a video rolls


spinning lies another bright young man died as this story unfolds

    1. So nice to hear from you my friend. You were a very kind friend for so many years and I’m sorry if I disappointed you by kind of disappearing. I have been busy writing a book and doing many other things, including moving from the house that we lived in for 17 years. I look forward to following your gorgeous pictures again and enjoying the walks we take along with you. Big hugs, my friend and thank you for your kind compliment.
