My New poem “school’s out early” now live on spillwords press, nyc

“L’Innocence” by William-Adolphe Bouguereau, 1893 – Public Domain

nineteen hearts to memorialize
whiffs of jasmine swim from wounds
shock sails off tiny precious faces
evil still crawls in the worst of places

To finish reading my poem please go to SpillWords Press, NYC – A big thank you to Dagmara K., Director of Development | Editing Department for supporting me by publishing my work.  It is always an honor to have my work in their beautiful magazine along with such wonderful writers.

Very heartfelt Joni..a emotionally heavy moment in the US history.

    1. jonicaggiano says:

Thank you Cassa it really is and it looks as if we will never learn from these tragedies. Blessings to you my friend. Love, Joni

  2. I read the entire poem Joni. Unfortunately this mass shooting will also be forgotten. What happened to Society ?!? I am very sad and angry at the same time. Because those who are suppose to look out for the entire nation’s well being seems to see only three words in the horizon. N R A 😔😔😔😔

    1. jonicaggiano says:

You are so right my beautiful friend. We have already had another mass shooting where a father killed his three children, his wife and then himself. This just happened this week. It is horrifying to me. We don’t own a gun nor would we ever. The military and the police under monitored situations are, I believe, the only ones who should own guns. Thank you for your heart felt comment Gül. Blessings to you and the family. Love Joni

      ROSADEVALENCIAART,

      i AM A VETERAN.
Spent A Lot of Time (Years)
      Working in The Middle East.

Irag, Afghanistan, Sinai, Israel, Jordan, Egypt, et cetera.

NEVER Did I experience such Horror as We are experiencing Here in My Belov’d America as we are today.

It greatly Saddens me–As Does Us All.

        OOps! I misspelled ‘Iraq’
        Damn! I need new glasses–Rose-Colored, if-you-please.

      2. jonicaggiano says:

Sorry for the late response, hope you are having a blessed week. Hugs, Joni

      3. jonicaggiano says:

It is very heartbreaking indeed. Thank you for your service, I truly am grateful to each person who have served and their families. Bless your heart. šŸ¦‹

      4. I understand how you feel LAMarcom. We are at a point right now that words no longer can define feelings. Action is needed. We know that those who want some kind of control over assault weapons access is many more than those who blindly follow NRA’s lies. We know Senators and Representatives in the Congress are almost all in NRA’s pocket. So… I say American people should be the ones to remind those Senators and Representatives what the majority wants. This is not a mental health issue. It is accessibility of the untrained and civilians having access to assault rifles and using it to kill people intentionally and knowingly.

      5. jonicaggiano says:

Well said my friend. I live on an acre and a quarter and if you put a target on a tree in this subdivision you can practice shooting automatic weapons. People also shoot their guns at night which is illegal. This truly must stop. Big hugs šŸ¤— thanks for the healthy discussion, hopefully we will think of something to do.

    1. jonicaggiano says:

I certainly didn’t mean to do that. You are very kind to read my work. I am grateful to SpillWords for publishing it. I can’t stop thinking about it myself. My grandchildren 8, 9 and 10, had to hear this from their parents. Not an easy thing to do. They felt safe in the US coming from slavery in Haiti. Now I wonder if they will ever be safe again. God bless you Nancy for your kind and thoughtful heart. ā¤ļø

      2. jonicaggiano says:

Henrietta, I would go to your WordPress side and not see a new post and know that you are probably very busy. When I saw your beautiful post on Instagram I was honestly surprised and delighted. You do quite a bit of work and it’s very beautiful. I truly enjoy reading what you have to say. We all have other things in our life that need attention like our family, our faith, and ourselves. Your work is really beautiful. I hope you have a blessed day and that your family is all well. So I salute you that you handled it so well and continue to post every two weeks. Sending you lots and lots of love and many hugs my dear friend Henrietta.
