My new poem “Beauty”

Photograph taken from across the street in Virginia where we now reside – we watch the cows with great pleasure, and deer that join in the beauty Joni Caggiano

her curse     like white egret orchid

calla lily, breast milk of hera, wife of zeus

mandarin-claret leaves whirl

fall kisses savory cheek     beauty her curse

silence sings in black notes

scripting letters in the sky

emotions bleed     barren sigh

  1. This beautiful piece has a lilting, lyrical, classical feel to it that elevates it to something beyond poetry. Then again, that’s typical for your writing, Joni–always amazing, always profound. 🙂

    1. Oh thank you Mike. Do you know when the next part of your series will be published. I think it has helped so many people and inspired people as well. Lots of love and hugs my friend. 🌹🤗🌹

      1. It’s my pleasure, Joni. 🙂

I think the fourth installment of my essay series should post sometime around November 7 (not quite sure, but it’s been averaging every other Monday so far). As always, when it goes live I’ll post a notification on my blog. I’m glad you’re enjoying the series, my friend. I’ve got a poem due to go live at C&M on Nov. 2 and I’ll post a note about that, too.

Hope your weekend is going well, my friend. 🙂

      2. Just a relaxing and peaceful day here in Virginia. I am excited to read your fourth installment and your new poem. Your work is a gift always Mike. Your poetry is raw like mine often and I also relate to so many of your poems. Sending hugs, love and blessings. 🤗🙏

    1. Thank you Tim. Quite a compliment coming from you. You are such a talented photographer. It is beautiful in the fall here. Big hugs and love to you both Joni 🌹

    1. Thank you my friend. It is so beautiful here in Virginia. One of our neighbors has a lot of land and it is just stunning watching the colors of the trees and the sky at night. We love it here. Our neighbors are all kind and it is so quiet. We have trees everywhere except the front of the house which has four large trees. We actually like the view so much we would never want to plant anything that obscured our view. Sending my love and blessings to you both. ❤️🌹❤️

  2. Scripting letters on the sky…wow. I love that line. When I saw the picture, which is very gorgeous by the way, I thought of giants playing tic tac toe.. but the master poet says no. The Gods are scripting letters. 💙💜👏👏

    1. Dearest Nigel, thank you so much for your kindness. Yes, it does look like giants playing tick tact toe. Only a poet would see that my friend. Thank you Nigel. Today Scott will read your new pieces on the series we are following. I get excited to read about Tiny. I have grown very attached to her character. She is such an unusually intelligent and confident woman. Just brilliant Nigel. Mike U has another piece in his series coming out around November 7 and a poem on C&M on November 2. Love and blessings from Scott and I. 🙏🤗. Happy Sabbath!

      1. I’ll put a reminder for Mike’s pieces. Thanks for giving me the heads-up.
I haven’t written anything this weekend for myself. Been doing some transcribing for someone, and just been trying to recuperate. I’ll have some stories this week though. Give my best to Scott. 💙👏

      2. Sounds great Nigel. You need a bit of a break. It still sounds like you are working. Don’t forget to be good to yourself, Nigel. There is no way you’re going to lose your following, your stories are just too good not to read. Big hugs and love from both of us. 🌹❤️🌹

    1. Oh thank you so kindly for reading my piece. It means a lot to me my friend. That is a very kind comment and is greatly appreciated.
May you and your family have an inspired and blessed week. Big hugs, Joni

      1. Hugs to you! And thank you for thinking of me pretty lady. My family and I were just in Virginia to see a Virginia Tech football game.

      2. Please let me know next time you come to Virginia. We are only about an hour from where you were my friend. You would be more than welcome to spend the night with us. Sending hugs and blessings, Joni

      3. Oh how exciting! That is a blessing and if he is looking at options not an easy decision to make. Sending both of you blessings. Just send me an email Belladonna, you would be most welcomed, both of you. 🌹

      4. It is such a blessing when our children do so well, and hopefully that means that we did some things that were right. I know you must be so proud of him and I am grateful and proud of my daughter too. Yes indeed – God is Good!

  3. Dear Joni,

    I loved the first verse,

Sa malédiction, comme l’aigrette blanche d’une orchidée.

I thought of sensibility here, and the ways how of those with bruised heart are so wounded easily. It can be a beautiful gift and also a cruel curse.

II loved the poem. Also, what a splendid view you have. I feel you can be happy in a place like that. It soothe the heart aplenty to be in such beauty and nature.

Please do take care of you, and my regard to your husband.

    Hugs
    Myriam💌

      1. Some day you will be truly blessed for the gift you have given each writer, poet that you have translated with your ever spare minute after your many hours working during the day, Dr. Nguyēn Thi Phúóng Trâm. I apologize that I don’t have the symbols on my keyboard to write your name correctly my friend. What a selfless person you are. Love Joni
