Spring whispers her secrets like treasures
as painted trees bend with an abundance of flowers,

pine trees celebrate as male cones liberate
thick yellow pollen trembling at the sight of female cones,

The Ameri-Ku/Euro-Ku is a style of poetry created by Francisco Bravo Cabrera (aka Valenciartist). This style is an homage to the traditional Japanese Haiku that highlights aspects of American/European/Western culture.

    1. Thank you so much Tim. Thank you also for all your help yesterday; we are talking to that realtor today. You and Laurie have a blessed day, and again thank you so much. Big hugs to you both, Joni

    1. Thank you, Terveen, you are so right, I wondered the other day why I was so sad and depressed, and it dawned on me that the woods were my safe place as a child. They give me solace and peace, and then I knew why I was so devastated by this bulldozing of the forest down like it was nothing. Thank you for reading and for your very kind words. Big hugs and love, Joni

    1. Thank you, Francisco, for coming up with the rules and format for a new style of poetry, the Ameri-Ku and the Euro-Ku. One of the things I think is so unique about this style is that it has to have one of the writer’s original photographs and that it is written in a way that anyone can understand. Thank you for reading and thank you for your very gracious words. It means a lot to me. This is a gorgeous style of poetry. Blessings to you both today, sending our love.

      1. Joni, your words, your verses, your inspiring heart has truly enhanced this style and given the Ameri-Ku a whole other dimension in beauty, strength and passion. Thank you! Blessings and love to you from us always!

      1. Thank you so much Tim. You have been someone who keeps me writing with your constant encouragement and your own talent. You don’t know how you have been there for me. I could never thank you enough. Biggest hugs and love, Joni 🌹🦋🙏

    1. Thank you, Dawn. Yes he encouraged me to write the Ameri-Ku, and I was highly flattered. He is an unbelievably talented man. It is a fun style of poetry. Thank you so much for your kind comment. One of the things I love about this style is that it incorporates tradition, photography (a lot of us writers and poets tend to dabble in photography) I am an amateur but it is fun to get to use it once in a while for a reason. Big hugs and love, Joni

    1. Thank you so much Cindy. Francisco really did develop a gorgeous new form of poetry. He developed both the Ameri-Ku and the Euro-Ku and they are both fun to write and it gives us amateur (talking about myself here) photographers a chance to show off a lovely photograph with our piece. Big hugs and hope you are having a blessed and happy week.

      1. Hugs right back at you, my friend, and again I can’t thank you enough for your support. I have a piece on Spillwords today, and if you have time, I would just love it if you would read it, and if you like it if you would leave me some love. Happy Easter Belladonna, sending hugs and love your way!

      2. Hugs to you too. Belladonna, I don’t know if you saw the question I left for you on one of your posts but I honestly would like to know what you think of those palates videos on Twitter. The were inexpensive, and I think I could do those without hurting my neck. I have three fused cervical discs. Can you let me know what you think? If you think they would be good and do the trick, I will pay a bit of money each month for them. Thank you and again, Happy Easter and blessings, hugs and love, Joni (I need to lose 15 lbs)

      3. Hi Joni!
Yes that is a wondrful program for you. Doing wall Pilates is good for you entire body and will allow you neck to rest. Make sure you keep your back flat on the ground and Go as slow as you need to. Let me know how it works out for you. Also water exercises will be good for you as well!

      4. Thank you so much Belladonna. I thought I should seek your advice. I still have 15 lbs that I have struggled with since the life-changing COVID situation. I can’t complain I can still fit in my skinny jeans but it is getting harder. When you are small framed fifteen lbs really shows up. I use to do insanity with my husband and that is great exercise but it killed me neck. You are right about water exercise, I have done that in a gym with a friend and I loved it but I can’t afford a gym with a pool. I think I am going to try it. Thank you so much my friend. Have a blessed day and thanks for taking the time to answer my question. Love, Joni

      5. Joni I totally get it. Just make small changes and look at try different foods that work for your body and the foods that don’t. Learning your body type will help so much.
