My New Poem “US” now live on Masticadoresindia

Photograph of a beautiful couple on Pinterest – no photographer name found – Such a sweet couple

whisper softly in my tender ear

as shadows of memories linger near

fire crackles, tender our love forever soft

heat rising, warms up swiftly our bedroom loft

laughter sparks seedlings of love with ageless years

sometimes sorrow invades mixing dialog with liberating tears

    1. Shobana, thank you for reading and for your kind comment. It is a blessing to see people still together. We met a couple once that were having breakfast out and still getting along great and very much in love. We had to ask them; they had been married 75 years and were in their late nineties. They were as precious as this couple. Have an amazing day Shobana and thanks for your response. Love and hugs, Joni

  1. laughter sparks seedlings of love with ageless years..I saw this with my parents who were married like forever it seemed. Laughter, at silly things and moments that only they could relate to with a glance or a wink. Loved this poem Joni. This seemed effortless, like it came from the core of your soul.

    1. Good morning Nigel. Thank you so much for this very sweet comment. I am so glad you enjoyed reading this, Nigel. Every once in awhile I like to write a rhyming poem. Seeing older couples together always makes me smile. Older and older couples are seen together because we are living to be old hoots these days. I appreciate your kind comment and your reading me, and I look forward to reading you here again soon. Big hugs and blessings, my friend. Joni

  2. I commented at MasticadoresIndia but wanted to say here that this is gorgeous writing and a joy to read. Your gift continues to shine on us, Joni, and we’re better because of it. 🙂

    1. Dear Mike, I could certainly say the same things about you, I appreciate both comments, and they mean a lot to me, my friend. Have a magnificent day being blessed. Sending big hugs and love, Joni

    1. Thank you for your kind words it always makes a poet fill so good when their words touch another’s heart. You have a blessed and beautiful day. Big hugs, Joni

    1. Thank you so much, Tim. You are a sweetheart, and I so appreciate your reading me here. I hope that life has been good for you, my friend. Scott and I always try to figure out how cold it gets where you live in your wonderful nature haven. We can’t believe that a protected nature area can be bulldozing trees and building multi-million dollar homes in a creek area that does flood. Those five homes will cause deforestation affecting several neighbors. The beautiful wildlife will likely die one way or another. Can you imagine looking at your beautiful forest of trees and seeing a road behind your house? We will be provided with another home, and we are trying to get ready to start showing the house next week. We have a comfortable home, but the surveyor said he thought they might put the road back a few feet because you think someone in a million-dollar home wants to look into your backyard. Greedy people. Blessing to you and your sweetheart. Sending love to you both. Joni

      1. It’s 25ºF this morning. I think the coldest morning we’ve had this winter is 7ºF. Development is an issue isn’t it?

      2. Wow, it has cooled off here but has been in low seventies and high sixties. That is cold. Thanks for sharing. It will be 76 here today. Development in many areas will eventually cause severe deforestation and flooding. Well I will not be alive when whole cities start to fall into the water. I am so grateful you have your beautiful trees and all your wildlife. The beavers and the owls are my favorite. Sending hugs and love, Joni

      3. Now that is what I’m talking about! Perfect weather in your nature setting. All your wonderful critters will be out today, even the cats. What a beautiful place you have there with those older growth trees as well. Thanks Tim and have an amazing week my friends. Love Joni

  3. How beautifully described, these relationships of an entire lifetime. Your tenderness and gentleness in your description is just perfect, Joni.. We feel them mellowing like wine, sages and lovers forever!! I really love the image chosen on your site. Their history of a lifetime of partnership …etched on both their faces..Just perfect! 🤗

    1. Karima, thank you sweetie for your kindness. Yes it is sweet to see a couple ” mellowing like wine, sages and lovers forever!!” What a beautiful line my friend. I love the way their hands look too. They reminded me of my grandma’s hands, I was not around her much but I watched how they moved with such love when baking a cake or just making biscuits by scratch of course. Sometimes I would ask her if I could move her skin gently around and watch her veins move. She was a gracious woman. I so agree about their faces. Thank you Karima and I am sending you love, hugs and many blessings. Kind of sad that Klara’s story has ended. What a magnificent ending however, just so perfect!❤️
