Charlotte Street Art

Recently I was in Charlotte, North Carolina, and I visited the fantastic NoDa art district. The artist painted this in 2010. His name is William Puckett, and he used acrylic paint.   He shouted for volunteers, and 274 people from the community showed up. They are all in the painting. The name of the piece I photographed was called als Ich chan – the translation is “The Best I Can.” I hope you enjoy it.  I felt blessed that I was able to photograph his beautiful piece of work.  It is presented here in sections.  You can see his information on the second section.

We are all doing the best we can everyday.  Coming and going from all over the world.  All immigrants sharing space, having families and hopefully trying to love everyone the the way we want to be love.  Never can I repay the love shown to me from this community and how much it brightens my heart every day.

Leviticus NIV 19:33-34

“When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them.  The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born.  Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.”
