“The Short of It,” – Susie Bocks, Editor-in-Chief – Announces her First Anthology to Be Published in 2021

My Dear Friends,

I’m very excited to announce that I’m going to be included along with other fellow writers in the first anthology from “The Short Of It“!  My two pieces, “Lost Love” and “The Lighthouse,” will be part of the new publication, “The Sound of Brilliance,” to be published in the next few months.  This will also be my first inclusion in an anthology. Thank you, Susi Bocks, Editor-in-Chief of “The Short of It,” for this exciting opportunity!

I wanted to thank each of you for your continued love and support over the last year and a half.  You have touched my heart in ways that I can’t begin to express.  My friendships and sense of belonging to this highly supportive and talented community have been a tremendous addition to my life. You have given me a place to write pieces from my innermost thoughts, experiences, sadness, joy, and love.  In response, I get to read your work as well. Your posts have offered a splendidly intimate layer of blessings in my life.  Deep inside the place that makes my heart sing her songs, I thank each of you.

I look forward to the publication of “The Sound of Brilliance” and hope you will support its success.

    1. Yes, I will always be grateful to the staff for being the first magazine to publish my poetry and photography. Thank you Matt so much. Besides a song that I wrote which was published when I was a young girl and my book, “The Path Toward The Light,” your magazine was the first to acknowledge my work.     1. You are so kind my friend. I can’t believe you are finding time to read my pieces. It means a lot. I am very excited about this and I will be included in a round table in April about the book and maybe asked to read one of the two poems. The editor of “ I Write Her” is a very nice woman and a talented poet. We have also been busy doing stuff in our house and made a trip to Lake Lure to look at cabins.       2. We are still looking for a house. No luck and that is ok. You are so kind Katy. I don’t see myself as terribly gifted I have a lot to do. I am so glad you read me as it is an honor as you are very gifted. You too are humble my friend. Gabriela is very busy I think her book launches soon. She ( I feel certain ) will be someone who will be studied in Universities. Her style is like nothing I have ever read.

And I totally believe the PERFECT house will come at the PERFECT time for y’all!!! I agree about Gabriela! Her poetry just transports me and it’s absolutely beyond! And You make me laugh! You’re so sweet….but honestly….Your poetry explodes my heart and it’s an honour to read, You sweet thing! I’m sending You lots of Love and hopes things that the shot did to You level out soon!       4. Hi ya Kind Katy, my first day without a fever so I am feeling blessed. Thank you for all your kind thoughts and your sweet email which ended up in the pending folder instead of the reader. Anyway just glad I didn’t miss it all together. You are right about the house and we are not going to leave this house until the one we are meant to have come along. I hope your mom is ok and back to her normal self again. You would think someone with a lousy immune system like myself would not react too much to the virus but it kicked my behind.       5. OH!!! So happy Your fever is gone!!! Yeah….I hear it can wreak havoc on those with immune disorders. I have a dear friend with MS who says it would seriously damage her to take it. Some say a second wave of vaccinations will be recommended in the future. God knows what to believe. But my friend with immune disorders says Johnson and Johnson is coming out with a new shot that works exactly like the vaccinations of old and it doesn’t mess with the immune system….she’s going to get that one. Just for future reference for You should You choose to revaccinate down the road. I’ll let You know how it goes for her! Thank You about my mom. She IS recovered from the shot now! I’m happy my email found its way to You! And I’m sending You love and wishes for all Your dreams to come true right back!!! Love You too!!! 🤗💖😊

We are continuing to get the house ready but don’t plan to move unless we find the right house near Asheville which is where my sweetie wants to go. I hope that you are happy my friend.
