Today I would like to wish all my fantastic blogging friends whom I love and care about a big Happy Holidays! My fellow friend, blogger and incredibly talented man, Francisco Bravo Cabrera, has nominated me to participate in the “Ten Day Travel Challenge.” Francisco is a multi-talented poet, musician, photographer and painter. Please check his work Omnia Caelum . . . Poetry, Art and Music. I will post one of my travel pictures every day for ten days, beginning with this one today. I cannot disclose the location where the photo was taken.
I must nominate others to continue this challenge if they so desire. Today, for day one, I nominate my good friend, Stuart Aken, whose blog features his beautiful gallery of photography, writings, and close to twenty published books. I recently wrote a review on his novella, The Methuselah Strain, an amazingly entertaining book; please check out my review on his site and other reviews of his beautiful works. The participants post ten days of photographs without telling their locations. Remember, it is ten days, ten travel pics, and ten nominations.

Oh you are so welcome. I thought of how you have been posting your beautiful photographs for months for others to enjoy and how much they have meant to me and you were my first thought. So hopefully you and I both can come up with people to nominate and we will also meet other photographers. I think I should have included the link of the first person who nominated Francisco too. It’s so difficult to know how other bloggers will respond to these sort of events, Joni. As a means of spreading both enjoyment in the world, and increasing exposure for our other activities online, this is probably a worthwhile venture. It costs us nothing but time, which, as we both know, is a ductile dimension.
Fantastic Books Publishing have put out 7 of my books so far, and they’re looking at another. I’ve also self-published another 6 titles, and had stories published in several anthologies and magazines. Dan, who runs FBP, has a stable of well over 50 authors. So far, I’m his most prolific author, but I’m also probably his oldest!
I’ll collect the ten nominees I need and then start the posts, but as a separate post from the daily pictures, I think. It’s not a lot of work, after all.

And a short/true story NOT for kids…and a fourth book for kindof anyone…They were on Amazon for a couple of years. I took them off the market about 6 months ago…but after a crazy sweet talk with a very dear friend who wildly encourages my writing….I just republished them yesterday. 😄 I think we all go through the doubts and strange fits and starts of being painfully shy about our work. Anyway….Your idea is a wonderful one!!! I just may well do that someday!!! All the scientific related things were heavily researched as well as projections about ice caps, and flooding, etc. I used an illustrator in Sri Lanka from Fiverr.com. He only asked for 5.00 US per illustration but I knew that wasn’t fair. I paid him $20.00 and tipped him. He did such detailed work. I couldn’t afford to do that again though. You are blessed with the ability to do amazing illustrations and paintings. I just got an update on my order. Your two books will be here Jan. 4, my birthday. I am so excited. Yeah…I didn’t know about the robot bees. Sad and crazy. Did You know You can pet bees? I’m being totally serious!!! They are so sweet and gentle. What a precious thing to share. Did you look up some of the prototype robotic bees there are already so many patents out. I hope to teach children about what we are doing to our environment, the effects of bullying and also how there is already a shortage of water. Sounds like a sweet way to spend a birthday! Mr. White’s a bit rough….so….😕. And I was working on something with Alanza and found some typos. Very funny! 😅 Yeah….the bee thing!!! I can’t take credit. My sweet friend, Rosemary, is a master organic gardener and she hired me a few years ago to assist her. One day we were sitting out in her garden weeding and were surrounded by bees. We were just enjoying their company and remarking on their beauty and she started talking about petting them. I though she was joking…but no!!! Too fun and funny. My favorite was telling Bill …. seeing him laugh as I had, and then watching him go outside and discover it was true! So magical!!! So, Yay Rosemary!!! And happy bee petting, sweet Joni! How sweet Kind Katy Bee Whisperer. My honey is like a child too in the vegetable garden. In our bee and butterfly garden are milkweed grew so many butterflies it was crazy. We brought one in the house and it emerged and it took a while to get his legs then we let him outside and he flew off. They don’t have monarchs till the second year and the third year they have flowers. We checked on them everyday. Your books came yesterday and my BD gift is Scott is going to read in its entirety “The Intrepid Now of Mr. White.” After breakfast and I am excited. I love that it is a play. TRIX! I used to LOVE TRIX!!! 🤣🐰💕 I DO know Stuart and LOVE his blog! It IS very fun meeting soooo many wonderful people! And as for talent, as beautiful Bill would say, “You’re talkin’ ’bout Yourself, Now!” 💖 Yeah….all is well here. I really like that here in our little community it is up to the individuals. So all businesses are open (Thank God! I know people who own small businesses whose entire lives would have tanked had they had to shut down!) and people distance/wear masks (or not but mostly do) and it’s all been flowing fine. We had an initial shut down back in Feb or March or whatever….but that was it. Masks everywhere but life goes on. We’ve even gone out to eat on our Friday date nights through this whole thing (once the initial shut down was over) and been fine. Some of my socialising is on hold….but I treasure the freedom we have here. People are smart and respectful. And we’re being safe! I can’t WAIT ’til the whole world can breath a sigh of relief after this passes. Can You even believe it’s been so long?!! Ya’ll stay safe and well too!!! And WHAT? Did sweet Gabriela injure her foot? I didn’t know that…is she ok? I’m sending You HUGE hugs and SOOOOO much Love!!!
I am glad your island folk are respectful and everyone is so nice. That is a blessing and that the locals are getting support. We are ordering Italian to pick up for Christmas Eve. It is a restaurant that is very close, and family run. Trying to keep the locals going in our little town outside of Raleigh as well. We are still looking at cabins around the hot spring area. I really want to move. We have a beautiful home but I feel guilty about taking up too big a footprint for just two people. We don’t need more then 1200 square feet.
Yes dear Button (Gabriela) hurt her foot and I think it is a painful injury. She has to wear a boot. I love Button, she encouraged me to try and publish and I haven’t told anyone yet but I have had a piece accepted in an anthology. It is very visceral and hard to read as it is about Haiti. My experiences on mission trips rolled into one poem. The words are all from real experiences but painful to read. I hope she gets where she can get around soon. You are a blessing to me Katy. Dearest Katy, we are something else. I quit talking about my dystopian young adult book because I didn’t know if anyone would enjoy it. It is a long book and it is based on my belief in God and what we are doing to our world. The world my characters live in is based on scientific predictions and not pretty. A kind man from Sir Lanka illustrated my book. We have been reading the intros to your books and I adore your adventure book very much. It is beautiful Katy. I have read the first two poems and they are spectacular. I was right about you. The illustrations are divine and words beautiful.
Your followers love you and would love your books. Did you ever hear about the author SARK? Her books are great, she was crazy successful and she wrote and illustrated a whole book on Napping.

Yes we are going to buy Mr. White. I was out much of the day so it will likely be today that we place our order. I know I won’t get it by Christmas but if it is what I think it is about after Scott read to me what was available on line. I also thought it might be a great book to share with our grandchildren too. I like raw it is real. There were so many homeless people in Seattle that I passed every day downtown walking to and from my job. Your books are precious as is your poetry. You are special my friend. We spent an hour reading everything we could together. He has an amazing narrative voice. Did a lot of plays before I married him. We did Cabaret together. He was the MC and we sold out after the first night. I played the Russian whore and telephone girl. It was fun but too much practice and I did not want that kind of life. Sending you love back Katy. Oh yea!!! what a blessing. Stuart has been posting photography for months now for those closed in, as he lives near someplace with famous trees. I don’t want to give anything away. We are in NC and believe me right now people in our area need to be closed in. The statistics are not good but I do believe a vaccine is on the way. I am so delighted you enjoyed the photograph. That makes me smile. This has been a challenging time for folks. Francisco has done lots of travel as he is from Valencia. Stuart lives in the UK. So lots of exotic photography from them.
So you are a stuck time traveler. That is just not fair. You could just get into your machine and snatch up a couple of vaccines and then you would be good to go. Oh thank you Colleen. I know what you mean about the snow. When I lived in the Pacific Northwest I was a snow skier and if it wasn’t busy I would like to just stand on the side of the run and listen to the sound of silence. It is the most wonderful sound if you have never experienced it. All you need is that beautiful snow and no activity from people or animals. Perhaps because we don’t hear quiet often.
