Lovestruck

Poem by Joni Caggiano 09/07/20 (24 second read) – Photo by Trevor McKinnon (Unsplash)

the sea raged, flogged by the fierce lightning
observing from an abandoned church where we fled
with formidable arms, you picked me up and embraced my heart
you spoke of yearnings, as you fed me floral notes with your voice
how you played my small feet like an instrument of uncharted love
coconut and musk oil lingered, as you smelled and kissed my reddish skin
fervent, tanned hands found mine as the thunder roared in the distance
captured by your green eyes which drank me, like perfumed nectar
our souls fused as your muscular body was now a part of mine

  1. Sometimes you literally can’t find any words to appreciate the beauty, describe the beauty in a poem. This is one of those instances. Gorgeous poem. You are wonderful.๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜โค๐Ÿ’—

      1. Youโ€™re welcome, Joni. I enjoy reading your poems, itโ€™s a treat. Thank you for your good wishes, I have a bit of a break from work this week through half of next. I hope you have a good weekend and week ahead. ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ™๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ˜˜

    1. Thank you Stuart. I really appreciate your kind words. I have gotten where I use music as inspiration for almost everything I write. Hope you two enjoy your day. Sending lots of hugs ๐Ÿค— to you both. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’•Love Joni

      1. I use music as background while I write, Joni. It seems to seep into the spirit, and does a practical job of disguising other sounds that might otherwise intrude I find.

      2. Exactly, thank you my friend summed it up perfectly. There is a lot of noise today to distract us, in our world. Thank you Stuart. Many hugs ๐Ÿค— Joni

    1. Thank you John I am so appreciative of all your kind support my friend. So glad we connected in the blogging world. I am grateful that you enjoy my work. It means a lot to me. I am wondering if I can ask where you set your boots down, or where you consider home? As you know I am in North Carolina by way of Seattle, WA. I am just curious, I am always amazed at how far away many of the people we meet on line can be. Perhaps you will share your location. I hope you are blessed with an amazing day my friend. Sending love โค๏ธ and hugs. Joni

      1. Thank you for sharing that. There are certainly lots of things to do in that area. I have heard that traffic is pretty wild but again lots of things for a person to do. I would love to move to an area with mountains. Asheville and Boone are both nice areas but we have talked about Montana also. I want goats. I know that may sound nuts but I want to make a variety of goat cheeses.

I hope you have an amazing day my friend and that you are blessed with lots of love. Sending hugs to you and all your loved ones. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŒบJoni
