My New Poem on The Finest Example “A Path of Breadcrumbs”

Poem by Joni (Published first by The Finest Example) Photo – Unsplash-Zbynek Burival

steam rises from the path which elicits moments
tasting of honey, trickling over my body, as I roam alone
hot pavement releases her heat through steam,
like sultry, smoke cascading upwards toward the heavens
morning rain, still fresh with summer kisses mixing with pollen
tiny is the child with training wheels on her bike
innocent her smile as she glides on air in new shoes

  1. Congratulations dear Joni!!

This poem is so beautiful. It touched my heart.

“like sultry, smoke cascading upwards toward the heavens
morning rain, still fresh with summer kisses mixing with pollen”
Your intense imagery and gorgeous metaphors always take my breath away.

“tiny is the child with training wheels on her bike
innocent her smile as she glides on air in new shoes”
Such a sweet description, which evokes deep feelings inside the narrator of course, but also the reader. These lines made me smile in a bittersweet way.

“remembering you like a chocolate cake that has no end”
The ending was so lovely. The pain is evident in the lines.

    Wonderful Joni, really!❤❤
Sending lots of love and hugs🤗😍
    Have a great week ahead!💞🌹🌷🌷

    1. Ishita, thank you for this very kind comment my friend. I so appreciate your reading and commenting. I apologize for the long wait in response. I answered all my comments in the reader, then went into my blog site to check for spam and saw that your comment from days ago was awaiting moderation. I am so sorry, you wrote such a beautiful comment on my poem and it means so much that you take so much time to respond with comments about lines you like. It helps motivate me to work harder and get better when I get feedback from readers. You are always so considerate and kind in your comments dear friend. Sending love and blessings and again sorry for the long delay. Yours wasn’t the only one I didn’t see under the reader. Have a blessed day Ishita, hope all your family is well. Sending lots of love to you my dear friend. Hugs, Joni

    1. Thank you so much my dear friend. I am so glad you liked it. I am sending you love ❤️ from N.C and wishing you a wonderful day. Love ❤️ you Joni 💕🤗🌸🎉

    1. Oh thank you Stuart. I really appreciate your comment it means a lot to me. Although living where you do, brings a whole new meaning to the word stroll. My husband and I have tried to imagine what your little downtown is like. I think there may be a bakery, a very small family grocery store and a post office. The temperature is probably nice in the morning too. When I get up sometimes it is already so hot and humid my glasses fog up. I am not complaining though I am very grateful for all my blessings. Love to you two. Joni 💕❤️

      1. Not a bad guess, Joni. We actually have a small village shop that incorporates the post office, a fish and chip shop, two pubs, a hairdresser, and a small complex with a garage, body workshop, and tyre supplier. We also have a medical centre that provides prescription medication, 2 churches, a village hall (I’m a trustee for that charity), and a recreation field with a regular football team in place. They have a social club under the village hall, and there’s another social club near the shop. Almost everything one needs for everyday living.
Today, it’s been raining all morning, continuing now into the afternoon, but it’ll stop before dark, and we’ll go for our walk then.
        Keep safe and stay well.

      2. Oh thank you for this Stuart. I really do appreciate the time you took to tell us about your village. What else do you need. It sounds like a “make believe place”. I am not surprised to hear that you are a trustee for the village hall. I bet everyone is pleasant to everyone else too. It sounds like a dream. All you need right there in that gorgeous village tucked away with such a historic past. I bet the pubs are like the small pubs in the movies. I am glad medical care is close by. Well rain can be a blessing too so that is ok as long as you get your walk in. I bet people walk everywhere which helps to keep the population healthy. Thanks for this Stuart. We have talked a lot about how you live in a lovely hidden jewel. Sounds like we were sure right. Enjoy your walk later my friend. Love ❤️ Joni

    1. Thank you beautiful Button. I am so glad you liked it. So kind of you to read and comment my dear friend. I know you must be so swamped. I hope that your schedule is one you are ok with and I will be praying for you. Love, blessings and prayers along with lullabies sung by ancient fairies who once travelled the roads with the giants who lived in the Land of Milk and Honey. They will sing you to sleep with their old stories.
      Much love,
      Honeybun ❤️💕💖🌸🌺🧚‍♀️🧚🏻

      1. Hi Joni! I have no idea why my comments are coming out misworded with missing letters. The “a a” is suppose to be “are a”. And you are a shining shiny star whose words of healing I always absorb! Happy blessed Thursday Joni, your are special! Big hugs and the best coffee to you! Swim and Stay cool!🥵💗💗💗☕️☕️☕️

      2. You are a sweetie, you know I am so glad to hear from you I read your comments just fine and don’t notice what you are talking about. Love ❤️ ya – sending you dancing doggies that whistle and sing – their favorite thing to do is balance shots of deep roasted coffee beans on their long eyelashes while singing the blues. Maybe a bit of Linda Ronstadt singing “Blue Bayou”. Oh and the fairies will be there too as they play beautifully on all sorts of tiny instruments. Enjoy them. 🧚🏻🧚🏻🧚🏻🌸💕❤️

  2. This is such a feel good poem. I’m smiling when I read this. Ear to ear. Such a meaningful take on love in general. Bright, eloquent and ever golden like the beautiful summer afternoon.
    Love,
    Shanyu.

    1. Oh thank you my friend you have made my day. You are so right a poem about all kinds of love as well as remembering a loved one and leaving breadcrumbs while thinking of tender things he did while walking. Again, thank you my gracious friend for your words. Love to you and your family. 💕❤️🤗

      1. My pleasure Joni. Love has so many different faces. Leaving breadcrumbs while thinking of tender things is one of them.
May you find love, always into eternity.
        Shanyu.

    1. Yes we are still on lockdown here in N.C. but we are fine. Hope you are Ok where you are my friend. We are living in some very strange times.
Our Country is a mess here in the US. I pray things get better. Love, prayers, and hugs to you and your family. 💕❤️🤗Joni
