Nature’s Call

New Poem by Joni Caggiano Written on 7/28/20 – Photo by Dave Hoefler – Unsplash.com

ballerina floats on air, lifted to the sky with gentle winds
houses float like boats across the sky with fins
dandelions drift by the thousands making soft snowfall
humpback whale calves whisper when they call
a solitary cave formed by the wave movements of the sea
as angel, butterfly, and leaf fish all swim free

  2. My dear Joni. Your final line in this gorgeously written poem is so perfect “as angel, butterfly, and leaf fish all swim free” – every image leading to that finish is such a beautiful depiction of freedom. It has the feeling of a warm summer’s day, when nature shows us just how ‘right’ the world can be. Reading this poem is like being immersed into a warm summer breeze and calm.

Sweetheart, I’m sorry I haven’t responded to comments lately, but I want to tell you how much I cherish each and every word you give me. How each one makes my heart soar, how each one has made my day a little brighter, how each one is a gift. I feel I’ve pulled myself off the floor a bit now, and hope to be around on WordPress again a little more. Sending you love, my beautiful Joni xoxox

    1. Oh dearest Rachel your words have made me break a bit, but in a wonderful way. As you know, that tears can be healing. Your words have eased my heart so much and yet I hope that things are ok with you. These are crazy times, I know. You will be in my prayers please know that, as we all need prayer right now.

I asked God the other day for a sign that my writing was not just me being selfish, and you are my prayer answered. I feel we share so much and understand each other in a way that only people who are truly meant to connect, do.

Your poems are a gift for me also Rachel and touch my heart so deeply. Thank you for all your gracious words. Take care, sending you my love Rachel and hugs and prayers too.
💕❤️🤗🙏 Your grateful friend Joni. (Love you)

      1. Joni, i always sense your gentle but strong and beautiful spirit, and that connection between us both in your writing and in our interactions. Your writing is anything but selfish, it is a talent that should be expressed and realised and appreciated. It is a gift to those that get to read it.

It is me that is the grateful friend. Love you, Rachel xoxoxo

      2. Thank you Rachel your thoughts and sharing mean the world to me. God bless you my dear friend. Love, hugs and so many grateful blooming flowers coming your way.

  3. Beautiful poem, my dearest Joni. Your metaphors are welcoming like the silk. The imagery is enchanting like in the most fabulous fairy tale. Actually the entire poem is a fairy tale that enchants the senses.
    Superb indeed.
    Sending you plenty of love.
    Yours
    G.

      1. So sorry to learn about your dog, Joni. It’s always hard when a beloved pet has to go. As you say, recalling all the love, unconditional from a dog, will help as you go through the days. Thinking of you. x

    1. Thank you Katy. I am glad you found joy in this poem. I think it is wonderful that you are a dancer. When I was young I dreamed of being a ballerina. Hope you have a truly wonderful day my friend. Love ❤️ and 🤗 hugs. Joni
