My Poem “Tribute to the Forest” is my first published work on Vita Brevis Poetry Magazine

Disentangling my body as my spirit flows without restraint
through the dreams of the elusive creatures of the blessed forest.
My skin touches tiny petals of love that float freely
as cottonwood trees have turned the forest into a winter’s land.
As their fleecy white seeds blow into my dreamland with a subtle gust
reminiscent of the exquisite white feather of the Albino Cardinal,
turning sultry air cooler, and into melodies of the water lilies.

    1. Thank you so much Stuart. I am grateful you like it. I am so grateful to be published at Vita Brevis Press. There magazine is so beautifully done. Thank you again Stuart for your kind support. It is truly appreciated. Love to you and your wife. Joni

      1. The magazine looks very good. Love the way they use classic pieces of art to illustrate the poems. Very efective.

      2. I agree, I love the art work the editor picks, he has quite the eye. I have lots of favorite artist and love exploring new ones. My house is full of Waterhouse prints. I was stopped in my tracts the first time I saw one of his prints. Plus the first thing my husband ever bought me was when we were dating and he bought me a beautifully framed print of “The Lady of Shalott.” John William Waterhouse was amazing in his beautiful detail. Thank you Stuart. Love Joni

  1. Congratulations❤

When we lived in Washington State on the desert side the cotton woods were everywhere and it literally did look like it was snowing when they were in bloom. It was so beautiful but I was allergic to them like a lot of folks. Hope you are having an amazing day my friend. Love and hugs to you and yours, Joni

      1. Thank you so much Button. I am so glad you liked it. Your kind words touch my heart. ❤️ I am sending you lots of love and many hugs. I do hope you get some rest. I have a few books by an author named Sark, she writes for adults but in a fun childlike manner. She has a book about taking naps it is delightful and I think more women should take naps. She talks about ways to enjoy them. I have already mastered that skill. I need my rest and I make sure I get it. Love you, honeybun xoxo

  6. Though this can be read as a love poem, it is, also, how we at times experience God’s love through Nature. The scenes you evoke are so lyrical, Joni. <3
