A Child’s Prayer

Oh light where did your splendid sparkle go
To touch the heaven that I know
Where I visit God and sit upon His lap
I talk with Jesus, lay upon a lion, and take a nap
Joyful colors make a rainbow of love that can dance
Angel wings soar, and fragrance doth enhance
The brilliance of the moment in the sky
I weep with love for You, and I will try
Bending, before you Lord, to say to You
While stammering within my own heart,
I hear Your words; “I know you do –
and my child
I love you too!”

    1. One of the characters in my book is a wise lion who the two main characters sleep on. I love that we will be able to talk to animals in “The New Jerusalem” or heaven. Thank you Rhen. Love 💕 Joni

  2. I love this your words ring true. When I am great need of pacifying I lay in the Lords hand and HE covers with with a soft energy blanket to make me sleep. Bless you.

    1. Oh thank you, your comment made me tear up. I prayed before I wrote this poem and asked God to send me words that would comfort someone. I am so glad you could relate to this.       2. Oh thank you so much that really touches my heart. Seriously I appreciate your kind words immensely. I wrote two books about my childhood and then my teenage years and adulthood. It took four years and no one was interested in publishing them. I understand people that have not been traumatized during their years at home find it difficult to believe the things I wrote about. However I feel like it was reading books about other people’s experiences on getting to a “happy place” that even made me aware that other people had the same issues I had at one time. I am blessed and loved and am fulfilled now and don’t take it for granted. So now I try to give back with my blog. I am grateful that you understand my poetry and read between the lines.
