A Visitor

Yellow legs plump with pollen move
with steadfast zeal to each snowy bloom
Occupying her spring business by eyeing
pridefully her beauty in the reflection of
mirror image rather than this star, a rare breed
Known for her salient clusters of scarlet berries
vivid male Bluebirds come to feast upon
Her tangled web of thick branches heavy
these hunted berries are a delicacy for many
Shameful her oblivious behavior for without
this vital visitor she would utterly cease to be
Strange the wealth and abundance, yet guilty
until nature’s musts are gone, we just don’t see

    1. Thank you dear Button. Working with my daughter this week as she is involved emergency situations like this. I hoped it would make people realize how important the bees are and how we should be more aware of our blessings all the time. Thank you for reading and your kind words. Please stay safe. 💕 love J

      1. Hi sweetheart. You are blessed to have your daughter there and work with her for such a wonderful cause. Sending both of you love and please stay safe 💕🤗🌸❤️

      1. I expected as much and am happy to hear it. We are blessed to be able to still physically see our loved ones on line. Have a blessed day. Love and hugs, and have a blessed day beautiful Button.

      1. No worries, dear Joni–I’m hoping you are busy doing fun things! Yes, I’m staying safe, well and more than content–I’m a happy camper 🙂 💕

      2. That is wonderful to hear. I am helping my daughter with her job which is involved in the Pandemic. However what I am doing is safe just very time consuming. Stay safe. Love 💕 you. Joni

      3. It’s good to keep busy during this time–I’m glad you can remain connected to your daughter, and assist her with her work. Much love, Joni!💟

      4. Thank you kind friend. You are right it is good to be busy. I do worry about those living in close environments with abusive situations as those will likely get worse. Due to my childhood background I worry about all that could be closed in with the elephant in the room, what ever that may be. So we just keep praying. I love you sister, please take care and continue being blessed. Joni

      5. Oh, Sister–I agree with you that we must pray for those who would escape if they could: “Lord, protect them, keep Your strong and able hand on those confined in homes where love does not reign, until You bring them into a better place of peace and safety. We know You will, and we thank You now–in Your Name above all names, JESUS–Amen”. <3 (My background had both loud and silent elephants, and I felt imprisoned for so long. When I was 13-14 I asked Jesus into my heart at a friend's summer Bible camp–but it was seed in desert sand, couldn't grow. Nonetheless, I realize now that God was pleased to keep His protective hand on me–He knew the beautiful faith which would yet flourish. Praising and thanking Him again today.) Much love to you always, Joni <3

      6. What a blessing so happy you were in his beloved care most of your life. Once your Hod you always are. He will never forsake us. Love you Rhen. I think our prayers are working. Sleep well sweet sister. 💕😘❤️🤗

  2. I love this poem. Bees are so very vital to our growth in all the beautiful flowers we see & the food we eat. I have bee friendly plants & flowers in my yard for them to enjoy & bless them for visiting my garden. Thank you for this lovely poem in the beginnings of Spring time!

    1. Thank you so much for reading and commenting. I can tell you appreciate the importance of loving and protecting the bees. (Reading my book, and thanks again for doing so, is an awakening experience. Based on science not zombies. Let’s pray all those patented metallic bees get to rust on the shelf. Love you my friend. Please stay safe. 😘😘💕❤️🌸🌺

  3. Such a beautiful poem to Spring…beautiful words Joni, chosen with the heart and let out for all to see the beauty that is inside you, which you share with us in your lovely verses and in your wonderful photographs which I love and always look forward to seeing. Take good care, my best to you and your husband and may you both be well, safe and thankful ever to God for all His mercy, in this Easter weekend and always.
Love and peace from my little corner of the Mediterranean,

    1. Thank you my dear friend, Francisco. I am so pleased you liked it. I was trying to get a picture of this enormous bumble bee that was flying around our Holly tree but it was not cooperating. We feel grateful we can watch church service on a computer. You Please continue to stay safe and healthy as well. Love and hugs from the two of us to you from North Carolina. Joni
