Outdoor Cathedral

Pressing past the rock with fist opened yielding with the crevices
Joy touches my content heart like little feet stomping ripe grapes
Flowers liberate pollen as their songs melt into a stew of hazy dyes
Red-bellied Woodpecker yearning for love lets out its shrill cries

Glorious maiden is the Willow oak as I hug her trunk like a sister
Kissing me with her thin branches and leaves touching gently
Moving on, sunshine dances before me as it reflects in a puddle
While unlikely stable companions exchange a generous cuddle

God unwraps the heavens, and a thin blanket of tears fall on us
Moist air tiptoes through the forest like a messenger to declare
That which brings life celebrates as Angels weep with such delight
The concert of cicadas and the whippoorwills will perform tonight

Pushing swing with fluid legs like dust upon a cup He covers me
My voice sings without a note as prayers balloon upward to God
He hears the slight push of my feet, the hummingbird’s wings and I,
Embraced by His arms, comforted by His blanket of love I softly sigh

    1. Thank you sweet Gabriela I appreciate your kind words so very much. I am so grateful for your continued support and kindness and love. Have a blessed weekend fueled with inspiration and lovely evenings. Hugs and love Joni

    1. Thank you Rhen. I always appreciate your sweet comments so much and your support. I am late getting back to people. I had the shingles shot and got very sick from it. High fever, headache and weak. Thank you for your patience. I love you Rhen. Hugs Joni

      1. Oh, Sister–I’m so sorry you’ve been ill from the shingles shot. I will step up my prayers for you immediately!! Love you too!! <3

      2. Oh your so sweet. I am actually without fever today but was very sick for three days. It is a newer vaccine, not a live virus but 1 out of 6 people get pretty sick. Your so sweet Rhen we think a like. It is comforting to pray for those we love. 😘😘😘

      3. It is always an honor to pray for others–some people don’t realize the power of prayer: God hears, and sends His angels out in force! I’m glad your fever is gone…you must have felt miserable…but better days ahead, Hallelujah!

      4. Amen about God’s Angel and the great power of prayer and healing. You are so right sweet sister. Thank you for your prayers as well. Good night and may God’s Grace surround you while you sleep. 🥰😘

    1. Dear Michelle, please know that I would never ignore any comment. I appreciate every one of my followers and I love you all. Thirty-seven people’s comments were ignored and I feel terrible. I was not aware that after you reach your limit (mine was evidently 2.8K, of comments) they start dropping off of the notification button on the phone. I never go into comments on my computer. I have always used my phone and hit the little bell that says notifications when the red button is on. So forgive this please. I can only imagine how many people may have commented that I will never know about or see. I love your site and your posts my friend, so thanks in advance for your understanding.

My apologies, I didn’t see this comment until just now. I chatted with an accommodating person on WordPress for about an hour to understand how I could be missing comments.

I found out today that WordPress limits the number of notifications you can have (a relatively small amount that’s not configurable). If I don’t respond to comments quickly (which includes new posts on every site I follow), it is likely to drop off. This means I won’t see a comment at all, as I have reached my limit, and the comment drops off.

I should be able to bypass this limitation by checking the comment section of my WordPress account on the computer many times a day. Please accept my apology, and I sincerely hope you have a blessed and fantastic day!

    1. Thank you my very gracious friend. It is hard to look at nature’s beauty and not see God. After all He created all the beauty we see. God’s blessings to you and your sweet family Anna. Love ❤️ Joni
