Haiku – For God’s Glory

God illuminates
Japanese magnolia pink
sings in frigid air

blossoms paint a space
birds and trees clothed by the Lord
Angels weep sweet tears

Rejoice rejoice all
cries of animals are heard
He waits and watches

never does He leave
hearing every single prayer
incalculable

I see you Jesus
in all that is beautiful
Your Face there imparts

Written by Joni 02/17/20 – I know Haikus are not meant to use capitalization or punctuation but one must when writing about Our Lord.

Countless tears paved a path of salty circles on my face today.  I am engaging two 5.5 year battles today and again tomorrow.  Yet, my resilience and God’s promises bring me peace of mind eventually.  My old fright and flight kick into high gear today like an old mule fighting his owner for his load is too heavy.  Then God reminded me:

Luke 12: 25-31 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? 26 Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? 27 “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 28 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith! 29 And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. 30 For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31 But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.

I was walking with my honey and two doggies on Valentine Day so taken with my I-Phone.

  1. This set of haiku is most beautiful, Joni–so much truth in the scriptures which comfort and remind us that we are held in HIS hand always. The note about your battles concerns me, so I’ll step up my usual prayers for you. Much love <3

  2. Beautiful poem and I share with you the flight or fight. Letting go and relaxing in calm for I cannot do anything. You must write Lords name with a capital letter. Bless you for touching my feelings.
