My Best Book Review

Sometimes we don’t know why we are meant to write what we do; we hope we have a positive impact. A couple of months after publishing my book, I received a letter. A neighbor of mine had bought my book and then shared it with a friend of hers. My neighbor’s friend had lost a child and one of her grandchildren. This letter she wrote had such a profound effect on me. Her words alone made the book worth writing. I opened the letter with my husband, and I was crying so hard I couldn’t finish reading it. He completed reading the letter, but by the time he had finished, he was crying as well.

I share this with you, my fellow bloggers whom I love and consider my friends. I am guessing many of you have had similar experiences.

The purpose of this post is to reassure artists that we never know how we may touch the life of another in a very positive way.

  2. Oh WOWWWWW, Joni–what a beautiful affirmation of the work God put in your hands to do. I’m blessed…and now, personally encouraged, because last November I participated in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) on a “dare” from the Lord. I completed the 50,000 word challenge…but the book is unfinished. It’s a Christian mystery, faith-journey…and maybe God is waiting on me to get ‘er done πŸ™‚ Thank you so much for sharing!!! HUGE Blessings to you!

      1. I am glad that I could help 😊.
I am, though fiction submissions are not many.
        You too, dear 😘❀️

  3. I had no idea you received letters or notes from your book/poems, what a blessing to know you are reaching people, that was your goal, to help others. You have succeeded my friend, & you are lovely

    1. You are so sweet Anna. My husband and I both cried. I know her sister but I don’t know her. She wanted to write to me and it meant so much. I can’t imagine losing a child and then a grandchild. She must be a strong woman. I know she is a woman of faith but that is about all I know. It was a really sweet thing for her to do.
Thank you sweet Anna. πŸ€—πŸ’•β€οΈlove you and please stay safe. J

  4. Are your books on Amazon? I used to be a voracious reader for two or more a week. Now not so much, my old eyes scream at me after not very long. Sounds like you had a profound effect on Brenda. I love to hear what people thought about the stories and people in my books and how they made them feel. Take care, and stay safe.

    1. I know it is so true isn’t it. Yes, I have just the one book which my kind friend Katy Boyer reviewed so sweetly. β€œAn overall love letter to God.” Her words meant so much to me. She is such an incredibly gifted artist and author herself. I can’t draw a stick figure. You are a prolific writer. I don’t know how you do it. Poetry is really where my heart belongs. You have to be very disciplined to write a multi-book series like you did. Hats off to you by the way. I also don’t read as much as I use to because I just don’t have time. I am so glad we met. You are sweet to be willing to share some of your photography with us. Sounds like you have done a lot of traveling. Thank you again for your flexibility so I could run Katy’s sweet post and artwork on my site. I am scheduling your nomination for Jan. 12, at 12:00 AM Eastern time. Remember that doesn’t mean you have to post daily or limit the number of photos. It is a nice way for people to meet people and most of these folks are wonderful writers as well. Multitalented folks like yourself. Sending you big bear hugs. I can’t wait until we can hug other people again. πŸ€—πŸ’•β€οΈπŸ€—Love Joni
