Just One Thing

Anxiety, perplexing pain is like drowning in the ocean,
The entirety is closing in, submerging us in slow motion.
Getting lost amongst the rubble and all the after hours,
Ever wonder how they came about all their dreadful powers?
Instead, let us ruminate on the Son of Man and so rejoice,
Giving thanks to Our God with every single grateful voice!

“And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:41-42 NKJV

  1. Yes! It’s very easy to fall into the self-induced trap of materialism, entertainment and commercialism. Jesus only wanted one thing from us, to follow Him, and He is ALL we need. May we all have a blessed, Christ-centered Christmas, needing ONLY the greatest gift of all!

    1. Amen. Thank you for reading and commenting on something so relevant to all our lives. Christ is the reason for the season I pray we all think about our Savior. Love ❤️ Joni

    1. Hi C.D. thank you so much for your thoughtful words. I really appreciate your visiting and kindness. I have apologized to several people tonight. I am so grateful that I am receiving comments but I am not use to getting them so I have not been looking. I will daily now as what a wonderful treat to hear from someone who enjoyed my writing. I enjoy your work as well my friend. So glad you enjoyed the poem, it is my pleasure. Love Joni

    1. Sidharth, thank you my friend. You are so kind. I appreciate your words so much. I will check my comments under wordpress every day now. They are like little gems when someone responds with a like but a comment is like finding a fairy beside my pillow waiting to give me money or a kiss on the cheek. So thank you so much. Have a blessed evening. Love Joni

      1. I feel the same way with the comments that my posts generate. Thanks for sharing such a delightful post. Keep it up with the lovely work. 🙂

  2. For sure, Jesus Christ is the Real Reason for this Holy Season. I hope that millions get distracted from the crazy, shopping scene and remember that Jesus is our Reason… above all, Jesus Christ, Savior of the world. Peace artfromperry
