No Real Danger

Panic seizes me like a panther stalks its prey for the kill,
Unbiased to the weakness it seeks in the frailness,
Of the wavering, unstable victim, as it waits, acutely surveying,
Then moving silently, a short rush, a bite to the neck and it's quelled!
Like a dark shadow in an alley, poorly lit with tangs of peril,
My heart's velocity quickens, as the deafening tempo resides,
Like the drum of anguish in my ears, mindful of the monster,
That comes like an unwanted stranger in the dark, sowing senseless fear!

  1. This vividly captures the terror predators of all kinds inspire in their prey. As the child victims of such predators, you and I experienced this terror firsthand. That we survived is a testament to God’s mercy and the power of the human spirit. The Welsh poet and priest George Herbert said, “Living well is the best revenge.” For Herbert, “living well” meant living moral lives to the best of our ability. There is much truth in that. Have a blessed week, dear friend. You have once again brightened mine. Love, A. <3 <3 <3

    1. Oh what a kindness to me to know I brightened your week. Thank you dearest Anna. Yes I agree with what you said. We know all to well that fear. I believe our survival is a testament to our strong faith. We knew God was with us. Thank you dearest Anna. Love you Joni 💕🤗❤️
